What is Turkish citizenship by investment?

Turkish citizenship by investment is an exceptional route through which eligible foreign investors may apply for Turkish citizenship after completing one of the qualifying investments established under Turkish law. Current routes include qualifying real estate, bank deposits, fixed capital investment, certain funds and government debt instruments, qualifying private pension contributions, and employment creation. Each route has its own threshold, holding period and competent authority.

What is the minimum investment for Turkish citizenship?

The minimum depends on the route. Qualifying real estate currently starts at USD 400,000. Several financial and capital-based routes currently require at least USD 500,000, while the employment route requires at least 50 jobs. The applicable rules should be reconfirmed before funds are committed.

4 questions
Which investment route is best for me?

There is no universally best route. Real estate may suit investors seeking a tangible asset, while a bank deposit may suit investors prioritising a simpler financial structure. Fund, capital and business-based routes may suit different liquidity and commercial objectives. The decision should consider citizenship eligibility together with capital preservation, liquidity, risk, expected return, tax exposure and long-term plans in Türkiye.

Do I have to invest before applying for citizenship?

Generally, yes. The qualifying investment is completed first and verified by the competent authority. The official process then moves through the investor residence permit stage and the citizenship application.

How long must I keep my investment?

For several qualifying routes, including real estate, bank deposits and certain financial instruments, the current holding commitment is three years. The precise restriction and the point from which the period runs depend on the route.

Real Estate Route

11 questions
How much property must I buy for Turkish citizenship?

The current minimum qualifying real estate investment is USD 400,000 or the legally recognised equivalent, subject to the applicable payment, amount-verification and title-registration requirements and the required three-year non-sale commitment.

Does every property worth USD 400,000 qualify?

No. Price alone does not determine citizenship eligibility. The property's legal status, ownership structure, seller and ownership history, permitted use, payment structure, official transaction value and citizenship-specific restrictions must be reviewed.

Can I buy more than one property to reach USD 400,000?

In appropriate circumstances, yes. There is no general numerical limit for properties acquired by sale so long as the qualifying amount and other rules are satisfied. Different technical rules apply to preliminary sale agreements, including how multiple properties and agreements may be structured.

Can my children be included?

Family eligibility depends on the child's age, dependency status and the applicable citizenship framework and administrative practice. The investor's and spouse's minor or dependent foreign children may fall within the relevant framework, but the facts should be reviewed rather than assuming every child automatically qualifies.

4 questions
What is the general citizenship process?

At a high level: select and structure the qualifying investment; complete the investment; obtain the relevant eligibility documentation; obtain the investor residence permit; prepare and submit the citizenship application; complete governmental review and security checks; and receive the citizenship decision.

Is citizenship guaranteed if I invest the required amount?

No. Meeting the investment threshold is a key eligibility condition, but it is not a contractual guarantee of citizenship. The application remains subject to applicable law, documentation, administrative review, security checks and the decision of the competent Turkish authorities.

Why should I use a Turkish lawyer?

The process can intersect with nationality, immigration, real estate, contract, banking and administrative law. For property investors in particular, independent legal review can identify transaction risks before substantial capital is committed. NAVITICAL coordinates the journey while critical legal work is handled with qualified Turkish legal oversight.

Cost & Pricing

3 questions
Is the USD 400,000 property investment a fee?

No. The USD 400,000 threshold relates to the qualifying property investment. It is not NAVITICAL's fee and it is not simply a government application charge. Professional fees, taxes, government charges and transaction expenses should be considered separately.

Are government fees and taxes included in NAVITICAL's price?

Only items expressly identified as included in the selected package should be treated as included. Government fees, taxes, property acquisition costs, banking charges, translations, notarisation and other third-party costs may apply separately depending on the case.

After Citizenship

4 questions
Is Turkish citizenship permanent?

Citizenship obtained through the applicable legal process is not a temporary residence status that simply expires after a fixed number of years. Turkish nationality law nevertheless contains statutory grounds under which citizenship may be lost or revoked in specific circumstances.
